Flavourama is one of Europe's leading Hip Hop and House Dance festivals. Every year, dancers, artists and audiences from around the world come to Salzburg for battles, workshops, performances, parties and community events. The 2026 edition is the festival's 18th and introduces several new program elements and locations.

What Is Flavourama Salzburg?
Flavourama is an international Hip Hop and House Dance festival held annually in Salzburg. Since its beginnings, the festival has grown into an important meeting point for dancers, artists and dance enthusiasts from around the world, while bringing street and club culture into Salzburg's cultural landscape.
The festival combines far more than dance battles. Its program includes workshops, performances, parties, panel discussions, community events and opportunities for dancers at different levels to learn, compete and connect. The result is a festival that feels both international and distinctly local.
For visitors, Flavourama offers a chance to experience a very different side of Salzburg. Away from the classic Mozart and Baroque attractions, you'll find energetic performances, contemporary culture and a community that has helped shape Salzburg's urban cultural scene. The 2026 edition is the 18th and brings six festival days of dance, culture and community to the city.
Flavourama 2026 Program
The Flavourama 2026 program brings together dance battles, workshops, performances, parties, discussions and community events at venues across Salzburg. The festival opens with the Flavourama Performatory at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg on 27 August and continues with events including performances, the Flavourama Academy, dance workshops, the preselection and the World Finals.
The program is deliberately varied. You can watch top-level Hip Hop and House Dance battles, take part in workshops, discover performances that combine dance with visual art, or simply join the community atmosphere at one of the festival parties.
New additions for 2026 include the Flavourama Academy, a new educational platform led by co-founders Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer, as well as a new festival location at Rockhouse Salzburg. Dance workshops also begin earlier in the program, and a dance photography workshop is offered in cooperation with Leica Akademie Austria.

Flavourama World Finals
The Flavourama World Finals are the festival's big competitive highlight. On Saturday, 5 September 2026, dancers who qualify through the preselection will face each other in Hip Hop and House Dance battles at SZENE Salzburg.
The evening brings together international dancers, DJs, live showcases and jams in a high-energy competition that celebrates both technical ability and individual style. The 2026 World Finals run from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with doors opening at 5:00 pm.
Even if you're not a dancer yourself, the World Finals are a fantastic introduction to Flavourama. You don't need to understand every technical detail to appreciate the energy, music and atmosphere of the event.
Flavourama Academy
New in 2026, the Flavourama Academy provides space for professional development, learning and artistic exchange alongside the festival's performances and battles.
The Academy is led by Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer, co-founders of Potpourri Dance and co-artistic directors of Flavourama. Its program looks beyond dance technique and explores the practical side of creating and sustaining cultural events and dance communities.
For people interested in the cultural work behind Flavourama, the Academy offers a different perspective on the festival and the wider Hip Hop and House Dance scene.
